About
Twenty years on both sides of the learning technology problem
I spent sixteen years inside a global medical device manufacturer, where I was the person accountable when an FDA auditor asked whether the training records were accurate. I have spent the last five as the consultant organizations call when they need that same accountability from the outside.
The through-line is that I have never been allowed to specialize. Running learning technology there meant designing the programs and owning the platform they ran on — one enterprise platform for a decade, then SuccessFactors, then the migration between them, then two more implementations after that. Doing both was not a career strategy. It was the job.
It turned out to be the useful thing. Instructional designers who understand LMS architecture are rare. LMS consultants who have actually built a branching scenario in Storyline are rarer. Clients who have been burned by the handoff between those two roles tend to find that combination worth paying for.

Background
The short version
-
2021 – Present
Independent Consultant
Instructional design, eLearning development and LMS consulting for 10+ clients across corporate, regulated and technology sectors — with several returning for additional engagements. Two full SuccessFactors Learning implementations delivered remotely, spanning U.S. and Latin American markets, alongside course development, AI video production and LMS advisory work.
-
2006 – 2021
Senior Manager, Learning Technologies · Global Medical Device Manufacturer
Led learning technology and instructional design for a global medical device organization of 1,000–5,000 employees across 5–10 countries under FDA, HHS and ISO requirements. Managed a team of 6–10 designers and developers overseeing 50+ programs. Directed the prior enterprise LMS implementation and global administration, then led the full migration to SAP SuccessFactors Learning and two sequential implementations after it. Represented Training during FDA and ISO audits with zero findings on training records or LMS data integrity.
How I work
Four things worth knowing before you hire me
I will tell you if I am the wrong fit
Some projects need a full agency, a different specialty, or nobody at all. Saying so costs me one engagement and earns the referral later. That trade has worked out.
Remote is the default, and it works
Both of my consulting implementations were delivered without setting foot onsite. The thing that makes that work is a structured communication cadence, agreed at kickoff and never quietly dropped.
Documentation is a deliverable, not a favor
You should be able to run the system after I leave. Configuration standards, admin documentation and governance policy are part of the scope, not an afterthought if there is time.
Accessibility is not a phase
WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508 and EN 301 549 conformance built in from the first storyboard. Retrofitting it after legal review costs several times more and produces worse courses.
